The first part of the Frac-In technology is the innovative remediation suspension, working as HF fluid and treatment reagent at the same time. This remediation suspension consists of an optimized mixture of existing remediation agents, carbon sources, nutrients, thickening agents and proppants. Two different types of innovative remediation suspensions are developed. A utility model of the technological production process for the most effective innovative remedial suspension is envisioned.
The second part is the technology setup suitable for direct push hydraulic fracturing. This technology consists of existing direct push setup (drilling rig) combined with newly designed probes, rods, pump, and other technical appliances for hydraulic fracturing and optimized for the direct push emplacement of the newly developed remediation agents. A utility model of this technological setup in one of the project outcome.
The project goal is to perform testing of the updated technology setup with the application of innovative reactive proppants in field conditions. The pilot-scale testing phase includes the assessment of effectivity of the developed Frac-In technology as a remediation technique and of its impact on soil stability, permeability, environmental and other conditions in the aquifer. Verification of the Frac-In technology via ETV programme is proposed.
The frac-in technology
This technology consists of two separate parts:
1) an innovative remedial suspension and
2) an updated technology set-up – combined together.
